Dr. Hill originated the idea for this book. He was asked to create a STEM class for 6th through 8th grade students. He was teaching in a school in California that wanted to encourage youth to consider a career in healthcare. But also, they wanted all students to make good choices when they needed medical attention. He involved his cousin, Dr. Richard Griffith, an anesthesiologist, to help with the writing. Raella Hill did many of the illustrations, and Dr. Hill’s students at the school made key suggestions for the book. We hope this book provides young readers with an unexpected adventure. Readers will often be asked to think of themselves as the doctor faced with a difficult situation.
